Langbloeiende aromatische plant, favoriet bij bijen en. vlinders. De Nederlandse naam, dropplant slaat op het aromatische blad. Ze vragen een droge en zonnige standplaats. Geschikt als snijbloem.. De gemiddelde hoogte is 80 cm. De bloemkleur is purpur. Deze plant is goed winterhard. De bloeiperiode is juni - oktober.
