Opgaande struik of boompje zure grond, oranjegele herfstkleur. In Engeland zien we deze flinke struik of kleine boom vaak, geroemd om zijn prachtig gevlekte stam en top herfstkleur. In Nederland veel minder vaak te bewonderen. De hoogte na 10 jaar is 200 cm. De bloemkleur is wit. Deze plant is goed winterhard. De bloeiperiode is juli - augustus.
