Schildblad, een echte oeverplant die ook instabiele. oevers weet te stabiliseren. Zon of halfschaduw heeft de voorkeur. Bloeit voordat het blad zich ontwikkeld, dus schrik niet, het blad komt eraan! Houdt dus van vochtige grond.. De gemiddelde hoogte is 75 cm. De bloemkleur is lichtrose. Deze plant is goed winterhard. De bloeiperiode is april - mei.
