Hooggroeiend ijzerhart is ideaal als weefplant. Verbena kan zich gemakkelijk uitzaaien, maar wees niet bang, ze is ook erg eenvoudig weg te wieden. Houdt van niet te droge voedzame grond.. De gemiddelde hoogte is 150 cm. De bloemkleur is paars. Deze plant is goed winterhard. De bloeiperiode is juni - september.
